The IMSEL Training program provides up to 30 hours of professional development training for educators. The program consists of three core pedagogical methods within an integrative whole-person development framework. The core pedagogical methods are delivered in small-group setting and also include individualized coaching to support teacher wellness and explicit SEL instruction within any classroom.

The ten integrative whole person development domains are: Exercise, Movement and Health, Nutrition for Health and Wellness, Imagery, Health and Wellness, Deep Listening and Close Reading for Stronger Relationships, Emotional Intelligence, Compassion Training, Restorative Practice, Teacher Self-care, Mindfulness and Stress Reduction.

• Strategies to assess and support emotional literacy, diversity, and intelligence
• Mindfulness-based strategies for stress reduction
• Overview of stress-response and the impact on attention, memory, affect, and learning
• Ethical aspects and the practice of Teacher Self-care
• Development and implementation of professional self-care plan
• Strategies and approaches to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue
• Application and integration of deep listening skills for class-room instruction
• Close reading practices and reflective writing for IMSEL development
• Experiential Learning practices for student IMSEL development (role play, drama-based, dance-based)
• Active and Reflective Listening skill development for Learning Relationships
• Motivational Interviewing techniques to engage learners
• Strategies for supporting growth mindsets
• Psychosocial variables of student somatic complaints and learning
These practices are known to:
• support healthy emotion regulation
• improve immune system functioning and support overall health and wellness
• reduce stress for students
• safeguard against teacher burnout, compassion fatigue, and stress-related conditions.
• increase self and social awareness
• improve healthy and responsible decision making
